The Eatery
Housed in a historic building that was once Finland’s first sea airport, Eatery Alex 1917 – formerly known as Ruissalon Maininki – celebrates the country’s architectural legacy through a “Eat local, think global” menu. Drawing inspiration from the pristine islands of Mauritius, the rugged charm of Ireland, and the bustling cities of Asia, our diverse offerings – from traditional Finnish dishes to globally-inspired creations – invite you on a dynamic gastronomic journey.
Our Location
Our restaurant is nestled on the historic Ruissalo Island, just a short walk from the Botanical Gardens of Turku. Housed in a former sea airport, we honor the legacy of renowned Turku architect Alexander ‘Alex’ Nyström, whose visionary designs shaped our city. At Eatery Alex 1917, we celebrate the confluence of local and global influences in our vibrant culinary experience.
